Crowdicity has been shortlisted for the EuroCloud 2014 Awards for Best Public Sector Case Study thanks to the success of its crowdsourcing project with the United Nations. Highlighting the best in practice and innovation, the Eurocloud UK Awards is the most prestigious celebration of cloud-based products and services around. As the world’s largest SaaS and cloud computing community, a EuroCloud nomination is greatly revered within the cloud industry with the Best Public Sector Case Study category highlighting the finest examples of delivering cloud computing benefits to Public Sector stakeholders and institutions.
The announcement marks the third shortlisting for Crowdicity in as many months, after being named a “Rising Star” at the Northern Tech Awards and being a finalist at the UK Cloud Awards earlier this year. What’s more, UK winners of the EuroCloud Awards will be automatically entered into the European Awards along with winning entrants from 29 other countries - the eventual winners being announced at the EuroCloud Congress hosted in Luxembourg in September later this year.
On Wednesday 9th July 2014, the team will make their way to London to present the case study to the final judging panel, which details the work Crowdicity carried out with the United Nations and International Telecommunications Union on the Beyond 2015 project - a unique global initiative which encouraged young people to co-create solutions for social good and inform world leaders about their priorities for the ICT sector.
Gathering ideas, views and real-life issues from over 8000 young people from 173 nations, the Crowdicity crowdsourcing platform enabled the UN to harness the combined voice of thousands of young people from all around the world – an operation which would previously have been impossible. The result saw the first ever crowdsourced policy document to be granted official status by the United Nations.
Crowdicity’s recognition by industry judges as one of the best British providers of cloud software has pitched them against other UK-based SaaS and cloud computing finalists in the category.
