Crowdicity has taken the top spot in the Best Public Sector Case Study category at the EuroCloud UK Awards 2014. The EuroCloud Awards are the UK’s most prestigious celebration of cloud services and software highlighting best practices, innovation and customer success achieved by providers of cloud services and products in the United Kingdom.
The announcement marks a highlight in what has already been an incredible year for Crowdicity, after being named a “Rising Star” at the Northern Tech Awards and being a finalist at the UK Cloud Awards earlier this year. The win means that Crowdicity will now go on to join team UK at the European Grand Final hosted at the EuroCloud Congress in Luxembourg on 30th September along with winning entrants from 29 other countries.
The hotly contested Best Public Sector Case Study category recognises the best examples of delivering cloud computing benefits to Public Sector stakeholders and institutions, with Crowdicity presenting their work with United Nations and International Telecommunications Union on the Beyond 2015 project.
Utilising the Crowdicity crowdsourcing platform, the United Nations gathered ideas, insights and contributions from over 8000 young people from 173 nations and resulted in the first ever crowdsourced policy document to be granted official status by the United Nations.
The independent panel of judges saw the global initiative, which harnessed the combined voice of young people from all around the world to co-create solutions for social good and inform world leaders about their priorities for the ICT sector, as a stand-out winner beating tough competition from the two other shortlisted companies. The win highlights the power cloud software has to change the way organisations like the UN reach and engage with people to have a truly collaborative and democratic approach to policy creation.
The EuroCloud UK awards has a strong history of recognising and rewarding the highest levels of excellence amongst cloud software providers.
